I have had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people

The balance between motivating and pushing me and making me believe in myself was invaluable. I didn’t get yelled at or lectured for skipping a workout, eating frozen pizza, or indulging in too many sweets. Instead, I was met with understanding and insightful responses that I found motivating.

My PT sessions were crucial in getting my body to function properly again. During our sessions, we discussed many of my thoughts and questions about training, dietary challenges, and life in general.

John-Marco is a very supportive person who explains and guides exceptionally well. I learned so much and always felt like the center of attention. He helped me feel confident in resistance training. No matter how I felt that day, the training was always adapted so that I left with a feeling of accomplishment.

John-Marco is amazing at providing support, offering solutions, and making those he speaks with feel safe. He shows great understanding and possesses so much knowledge about things most people wouldn’t even think about.

I’m very pleased with my collaboration with John-Marco. It was great to get guidance from someone with solid knowledge about training and nutrition. It gave me the insight I needed to be able to continue more independently afterward.

I especially appreciated John-Marco’s support and encouragement, willingness to listen, and ability to accommodate my physical and mental challenges. His presence and curiosity in exploring new challenges to find solutions were unique.

John-Marco was there for me on a professional level and, not least, a personal level. I always appreciated that I could share my thoughts and challenges relating to my personal life and resistance training.

From being terrified of stepping into the weight room in 2018 and struggling with low self-esteem and confidence to when we finished working together in the spring of 2023, I have grown into someone who feels secure in my training, understands my own limits, and has gained an enormous amount of knowledge about nutrition and fitness.

These are two pictures of John-Marco Ariza and Martin MacDonald during John-Marco's's graduation from Mac-Nutrition Uni.

Hi, I’m John-Marco Ariza

I graduated from AFPT as a certified personal trainer in 2018. Since then, I have had the opportunity to help individuals toward their health goals.

Early in my career, I recognized that there was much more to personal training than exercise. My curiosity and a desire to help people further drove me to attend workshops and conferences and complete courses, including Mac-Nutrition Uni, a world-renowned, evidence-based nutrition qualification.

Through what I learned, I developed an appreciation for evidence-based practice, which forms the foundation of my work today. I support and guide individuals using the best available research, considering their needs, values, preferences, and my knowledge and experience as a practitioner, to achieve what matters to them.
